王府井夜市
Beijing's most famous street food strip — from scorpion skewers to candied hawthorn.
Wangfujing Night Market is Beijing's most iconic evening food experience — a buzzing strip of street stalls selling scorpion skewers, stinky tofu, candied hawthorn (bingtang hulu), lamb kebabs, and all manner of novelty snacks. Even if you don't eat adventurously, the atmosphere and energy of Beijing's busiest commercial district after dark is worth an evening stroll.
Take Metro Line 1 to Wangfujing station. The snack street (小吃街) is a pedestrianised alley just off the main Wangfujing shopping strip — look for the street food vendors on the east side of Wangfujing Road. Most stalls open from 5pm and are busiest between 7 and 10pm.
Opening Hours
Most stalls: 5:00pm – 11:00pm
Entry Fee
Free to walk around. Food from ¥5–30 per item.

For your eyes only:
Wangfujing is one of the most famous streets in Beijing — all drivers will know it immediately.
Follow these guides to navigate each part of your visit.
Take Metro Line 1 to Wangfujing station — exit B and walk east
Find the Snack Street (小吃街) entrance — a pedestrianised alley to the east of the main Wangfujing Road
Walk the full length of the stalls before eating — see everything on offer first
Genuinely tasty picks: candied hawthorn (糖葫芦), lamb skewers (羊肉串), sesame flatbread (芝麻饼)
The scorpion and starfish skewers are mainly tourist novelties — eat them for the photo if you like
Walk the main Wangfujing Road for the commercial district atmosphere and look for street food vendors
The candied hawthorn (bingtang hulu / 冰糖葫芦) and lamb skewers are the genuinely delicious finds — the scorpions are mainly for photos.
Prices on the market street are fixed per item — no bargaining needed.
Wangfujing is also a shopping street — the Oriental Plaza mall and foreign-brand stores are all nearby.
After the market, walk 5 minutes west to Tiananmen Square to see it illuminated at night.
