Why Go

People's Park is the best window into authentic Chengdu daily life. Locals gather every morning to play mahjong, drink tea in bamboo chairs, practice tai chi, and get their ears cleaned by roaming artisans. The famous Heming Teahouse is inside the park.

Practical Info

Free to enter. Take Metro Line 4 to Tianfu Square and walk 10 minutes west, or Metro Line 2 to People's Park station. The teahouse is in the center of the park — look for bamboo chairs near the lake.
