武侯祠&锦里
The most important Three Kingdoms site in China — ancient temple and a living street market.
Wuhou Shrine is the only temple in China jointly dedicated to a ruler (Liu Bei) and his prime minister (Zhuge Liang), the legendary strategist of the Three Kingdoms period. The connected Jinli Ancient Street is one of Chengdu's most atmospheric evening destinations — cobblestone lanes of traditional architecture, shadow puppet theatres, and street food stretching alongside the shrine walls.
Take Metro Line 3 to Gaosheng Qiao station and walk 10 minutes, or take a DiDi. The shrine and Jinli are connected — buy one ticket for both. Arrive in the late afternoon to see the shrine before closing, then stay for the evening atmosphere on Jinli Street.
Opening Hours
Shrine: 8:00am – 6:00pm. Jinli Street: open all day, liveliest 5:00pm – 10:00pm.
Entry Fee
¥50 (includes shrine and access to Jinli Street)

For your eyes only:
Wuhou Shrine (武侯祠) is very well known in Chengdu. The Jinli Ancient Street entrance is right next to it.
Follow these guides to navigate each part of your visit.
Take Metro Line 3 to Gaosheng Qiao station and walk 10 minutes south
Buy your ticket at the main gate (¥50 — includes both shrine and Jinli area)
Enter the shrine and walk north through the Han Dynasty culture area
Visit the Three Kingdoms Gallery showing life-size wax figures of the era's heroes
The Liu Bei temple and Zhuge Liang memorial hall are the two main worship halls
Exit through the back and enter Jinli Ancient Street — look for Sichuan snacks and souvenirs
Stay for the evening when lanterns are lit and street performers appear
Arrive by 4pm to see the shrine properly before it closes at 6pm, then stay for Jinli's evening atmosphere.
Jinli Street food highlight: the pork lungs in chilli sauce (夫妻肺片) served in small cups — surprisingly tasty.
The shrine is crowded on weekends — weekday afternoon visits are much more peaceful for the temple itself.
Shadow puppet shows inside Jinli Street theatre run in the evenings — ask at the entrance for times.
