东方明珠塔
Shanghai's retro-futuristic icon — a glass floor sphere 263m above Pudong.
The Oriental Pearl Tower is Shanghai's most recognisable landmark — its distinctive pink spheres and latticed spire have defined the Pudong skyline since 1994. Multiple observation decks include a glass floor sphere at 263m offering unobstructed views back across the Huangpu River at the Bund's Art Deco skyline. The ground-floor Shanghai History Museum is included in most ticket packages.
Take Metro Line 2 to Lujiazui station — the tower is a 5-minute walk. Buy tickets at the gate or online to save time. Multiple observation sphere levels available; the upper sphere (263m glass floor) offers the most dramatic views. The adjacent river promenade gives the best exterior photos of the tower.
