武康路
Shanghai's most beautiful tree-lined street of French Concession architecture.
Wukang Road is widely considered Shanghai's most photogenic street — a 1km stretch of French-era villas, plane trees, indie cafés, and boutique shops in the heart of the former French Concession. Walk it slowly with a coffee.
Take Metro Line 9 to Jiashan Road station. The street runs roughly north–south through the French Concession. Start at the iconic Wukang Building (武康大楼) at the north end and walk south.

For your eyes only:
The Wukang Building (武康大楼) is the famous flatiron-style building at the north end of the street — a great starting point.
Follow these guides to navigate each part of your visit.
Take Metro Line 9 to Jiashan Road station, walk 10 minutes west
Start at the Wukang Building (武康大楼) — the flatiron-shaped landmark at the north end
Walk south along Wukang Road — browse the cafés, vintage shops, and galleries
Turn onto Anfu Road or Fuxing West Road for more French Concession architecture
Stop for coffee at one of the many independent cafés along the route
The whole area is walkable — no map needed, just wander
No tickets, no queues — this is just a beautiful street to walk and explore.
The best photo of Wukang Building is from across the intersection looking south.
Combine with Fuxing Park and Xintiandi for a full French Concession day.
